An Urgent Update From FramingPaterno.com
Dear Supporters of FramingPaterno.com
I am writing to you today for several very significant reasons.
First, I want to thank all of you for your incredibly important contributions to our cause of spreading the truth of what really happened in the Sandusky scandal. Without your financial support we never could have possibly made the progress we have.
Thanks to your contribution we have…
Commissioned a scientific national poll, which proved forever the incredible media bias and public ignorance about this story.
Given away 1,000 T-shirts bearing our message to Penn State students.
Produced a hilarious/informative ten-minute video mocking the Freeh Report’s narrative of a cover up, which has over 40,000 views on You Tube.
Produced a dramatic 32-minute “mini movie” summarizing our side of the story and giving people a hint about what a full-length documentary would look like. The two identical versions of the video have over 55,000 views on You Tube. If you have yet seen it, you can read about it and find the link to here it:

Purchased extensive Google/You Tube advertising to promote the video specifically to those who are not yet “converted” to our cause.
Purchased most, if not all, of the media clips which would be needed to produce a full documentary.
Considering the limited resources we had at our disposal, and all that we forces which we have set against us, I am extremely proud of all that we have accomplished so far and, since it would not have been possible without your support, you should be as well.
Perhaps the most amazing moment of achievement occurred for me when an extremely high profile former Penn State player, who is now a member of the mainstream media, texted me to say that the mini movie had convinced him that he was wrong in his initial conclusions about the story and that he now wants to do what he can to correct this injustice.
Of course, the next question is: what now?
This is where I need your guidance. I would like nothing more than to go ahead with a full documentary and plan to put it in theaters, On Demand networks, Netflix, Hulu, DVD, and other outlets. I am not even very concerned about the outcome of the pending trials (other than the fact that they currently make it more difficult for me to interview several important subjects). However, there are certain financial realities with which I must deal.
It is very obvious that the media will do everything they can to make sure this project fails. Therefore, I feel strongly that we need a rather large marketing budget (probably close to half a million dollars depending which interview subjects I eventually get access to) in order to insure that the film is not ignored or destroyed by the media.
At this point, I am NOT asking for money. I want to be VERY clear about that. I will NOT solicit any more funds until I know that I can go forward with a full film. As with every step of this process I only make promises I can keep and I am not going to take money without knowing I can deliver what I promise.
Here IS what I am asking for…
I am looking for legitimate pledges in $1,000 increments for a potential marketing fund for the film.
Without getting bogged down in the details, this would NOT be a donation. This would be an investment in the film (should it ever be made). Because of the way the proceeds would be broken up (I would essentially be doing the film, in all likelihood, for free), I am very confident that an investor would get at least half of their money back. After that, I can’t make any confident assurances.
If you are able to easily afford such a pledge, please email our PSU alumni coordinator Matt Brush with the details. His email is [email protected].
If we were able to get at least $100,000 in legitimate pledges (a goal we could easily reach if only 25% of our previous donors were able to make a pledge of $1,000) it would enable us to potentially tap into some other resources in order to get the rest.
If you are not in a position to pledge at least $1,000, you can also help by spreading this cause along to friends of yours who might be in a position to invest.
It would also be extremely helpful if you happen to be able to provide us access to any legitimate email lists of Penn State alumni/fans so that we can further spread the word about what we are doing.
In many ways this project has been the most difficult and taxing that I have ever undertaken. However, thanks to good citizens like yourself who have proven that there are indeed still people out there willing to stand up for the truth in the face of enormous public pressure, it has also been one of the most rewarding.
Regardless of what happens from here, I want to sincerely thank you for your support. You have helped restore at least a little bit of my faith in humanity.
I would of course be happy to try an answer any questions that you may have.
Sincerely,
John Ziegler
